Known Issues
Program Does Not Start
After downloading, neither the installer nor FreeZe may start.
Reason:
Windows Defender SmartScreen or Windows file protection may have blocked the file because it was signed with a new certificate that has not yet established trust.Solution:
Please follow these steps:
- Right-click the downloaded file.
- Select Properties.
- Under the General tab, you may see a note such as:
“This file came from another computer and might be blocked to help protect this computer.”- Check Unblock and click Apply.
- Run the program again.
Desktop Configuration
FreeZe temporarily changes your dual-monitor desktop configuration and restores it when you exit the program. If FreeZe is closed unexpectedly (for example after a user switch or log-off), the desktop may remain in “Extended” mode.
Incorrect Image Size or Distorted Output
If the image on the second monitor appears distorted, unusually small, stretched, or otherwise incorrect, please try the following:
- Open the Windows display settings.
- Set the resolution of both monitors to 1920×1080.
- Set display scaling to 100% on both monitors.
In most cases this resolves the issue. If FreeZe works correctly afterward, you can then gradually return to your preferred resolution and scaling settings.
Screen Flickering on Some Laptops
On some older laptops, especially when using a TV as the second display, the image on the second monitor may flicker. This appears to be related to certain laptop graphics hardware or display drivers. We are currently working on the issue.
If possible, try running FreeZe on a desktop PC instead.
More Than Two Monitors
The behavior of FreeZe on systems with more than two monitors has not yet been fully tested and may produce unexpected results.
